SHELLY TRUJILLO, Owner and Director
Shelly is currently the Choreographer and Assistant Director for the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders. Shelly has 3 Super Bowl wins under her belt with many American Bowls in Barcelona, Tokyo, Mexico City and London. Shelly has traveled the world with the Bronco Cheerleaders entertaining our troops in countries such as Afghanistan, Egypt, Jordon, Cuba, Australia, Guam, Japan and many more. As the Broncos Cheerleaders choreographer, Shelly has staged shows with The Frey, One Republic, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, and Jessie James. Recently Shelly staged a promo-tag for the Bruno Mars' halftime Super Bowl show. Credentials of her own include work with Deborah Allen, Sherri Belifonte, Danny Ganz, Broncos Cheerleaders, Nugget Dancers, Denver Gold USFL, as well as performing in shows in Chicago, and commercials. With over 25 years of teaching experience Shelly has created world renowned dancers including: Stephanie Landwher who performed in the Cher show in Las Vegas, Megan Hiratzka who danced with Katy Perry at the Grammy's and who is also the Asian face of Nike, and La La Land Choreographer and Emmy-nominated "So You Think You Can Dance" choreographer, Mandy Moore. Currently all three of her children are living the dream in Hollywood dancing, acting, modeling and singing. MEGHAN LAWITZ, Company and Contemporary Director
Originally from Arizona, Meghan Lawitz has a dance career spanning over 20 years. She is an established dancer, teacher and choreographer in Colorado having trained in many styles from contemporary, jazz, lyrical, and ballet to hip hop, tap, acrobatics, tumbling, and poms.
From 2008-2012, Meghan was the Co-Director/Choreographer for The Damsels Contemporary Dance Company – a Denver-based company dedicated to providing assistance to women in crisis. She has been a Guest Artist for United We Dance, You See These Moves, Releve Dance Competition, PUSH, The Block Party, Murmuration, St. Michael's College, and Denver School of the Arts, as well as an Official Judge for the UDA Mile High Dance Championships and the ICU World Cheerleading Championships. Most recently, Meghan toured with DMC International in China. A few of her performance credits include Vail International Dance Festival, 8150 Urban Dance Challenge, the Denver Dance Festival, and Interweave Dance Theatre . A recipient of numerous choreography awards, on the regional, national, and professional level, Meghan travels as a master teacher and choreographer for companies and studios across the globe.
Meghan is currently the Artistic Director & Founder of the Boulder-based, Rogue Co. Dance Company, on faculty with Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop, and dances with the all female crew, The Janes.
LOUANNE DAVIES, Ballet
JENNIFER KUHN, Ballet
Jennifer Kuhn is originally from the North Bay area of San Francisco. She is a principal artist with Ballet Ariel in Denver and guest artist in the Denver metro area. She began her formal training with the Marin Ballet, studied with Joffrey Ballet in New York, Richmond Ballet, Ballet West, and Alonzo King’s Lines Contemporary Ballet. She attended the University of Utah on scholarship, receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and Master of Fine Arts degree with a teaching and choreography emphasis. Ms. Kuhn has performed with Utah Ballet, Montgomery Ballet, Boulder Ballet, 7 Dancers, Jayne Persch’s Briah Danse, Zikr Dance Ensemble, and Winifred R. Harris’s Between Lines Productions. Ms. Kuhn was a principal dancer for many years with Dawson/Wallace Dance Project, formerly David Taylor Dance Theatre where she also served as a Rehearsal Director and Répétiteur. She enjoyed being a muse in the creation of many contemporary ballets and collaborating with a variety of choreographers. With Ballet Ariel, Ms. Kuhn performs many classical roles as well as original works. Some of her favorite roles include Cinderella, Lise in La Fille Mal Gardee, Sugar Plum Fairy and Clara in Nutcracker, the wife in Appalachian Spring, Princess Aurora, and Simone in the newly premiered Ballerinas by Degas. When she is not performing, Ms. Kuhn enjoys teaching and cultivating the next generation of performers as well as choreographing ballets and pieces for her students. Ms. Kuhn has been teaching ballet technique and choreographing in Colorado for fourteen years. She is honored to be joining the amazing teaching staff at Shelly True Dance Academy.
AUDREY GIBSON, Hip Hop
Audrey Gibson is a 29 year old originally from Boulder, CO. She has an BA in Psychology and is currently pursuing a Master's in Architecture. She has been dancing for 10+ years, while teaching for many of those years in many places such as Boulder, Denver, Colorado Springs, Florida, Los Angeles, Vail, Steamboat Springs, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
Audrey specializes in Hip Hop and urban movement, and while also training in contemporary, ballet, and jazz. She believes in a fundamentalist approach and from there, has cultivated her own personal style, which fuses the multiple styles that she trains in. Dancing to evoke emotion and to tell a story with movement, while maintaining a recognizable movement quality is her ultimate goal.
Audrey directs the all female hip hop crew, The Janes.
